The under-19s season came to a close yesterday with a superb victory over Rangers. Jon McShane scored the only goal in the second half as the youngsters finished a fine fifth in the league.

It's been a good season for the Saints kids as they also made decent progress in the SFA Youth Cup. It's just a shame none of them seem to be able to get a chance in the first team and it wouldn't be a surprise to see large numbers of them leave in the summer.

Interestingly, yesterday's three points lifted Saints above Aberdeen - can the first team repeat that feat this week?
