It has been revealed that two Saints players played the full 120 minutes of last nights game, despite having injuries, whilst another played over 100 minutes of football when he was really only fit enough for 45.

Kirk Broadfoot broke his nose in the first half and was advised at half time not to back out, but he did. Assistant manager Gus MacPherson gained a groin strain in the warm up yet played the full game, and reports suggest it was his best game in a Saints shirt so far!

Barry Lavety, meanwhile, was well short of fitness and shouldn't have played more than one half, but managed to pull through well into the first period of extra time.

This shows the type of team spirit at Love Street at present, with players desperate to play they'll play through pain. Kind of puts Kevin Twaddle's toothache on Saturday into perspective!
