Former Saints player Paul McHale is currently on trial with local rivals Greenock Morton. McHale arrived at Love Street on loan from Rangers last January, but left in the summer.
Personally I didn't rate McHale, and with the exception of a goal against Caley Thistle I can't remember him doing anything. Rangers released him in the summer, and whilst Saints were apparently interested he has been clubless ever since, though did have a trial with Hibs over the summer.Morton played him in a bounce match with Albion Rovers recently, where he scored a goal as a trialist. Whether the second division leaders will sign him is unknown, but if he's anything like he was at Love Street he'll be rank.
