Mirren Mad reported earlier that Saints star Kirk Broadfoot had finally made his Scotland under 21 debut before tonight's match with Belarus was abandoned. It now seems that the match was not abandoned but the SFA plan to protest the result so Kirk may not have his first cap after all!

It was reported that just after half time the match was abandoned due to some pretty torrential rain made the pitch unplayable. It now seems that the referee restarted the match after a delay and Belarus went on to win 3-2 (they had already been winning before the "abandonment"). SFA blazer David Taylor now plans to appeal against this, meaning the match could be replayed and Kirk might not have his first cap.

As much as I hate Taylor I feel he is right to protest this. If the referee decides the game is to be abandoned he can't change his mind twenty minutes later. Hopefully UEFA/FIFA will see sense and take action.
