Predictions Not A Strong Point

Mirren Mad's latest poll has shown that it's users are not very good at predictions. The subject was who would win the World Cup this year, with Germany coming out on top by some margin.

Saints have today made their third signing of the summer with former Livingston player Richard Brittain agreeing to move to Love Street. The midfielder was out of contract at Almondvale but Saints will have to pay compensation as he is under 24 years of age.

Two unfamiliar faces joined Saints for pre-season training this week, with Livingston midfielder Richard Brittain and former Ross County forward Alex Burke taking part in the sessions in Glasgow.

Saints Start With Trip North

Saints return to the SPL will begin on Saturday 29th July with a trip north to play Inverness Caledonian Thistle. This will then be followed by a flag raising game at home to Motherwell the following week.

Mirren Mad's latest poll has shown that an opening SPL game against Dunfermline Athletic is the preferred choice for Saints fans, with Rangers coming a close second. The fixtures are due to be released on Thursday.

Saints Finalise Pre-Season Schedule

Saints have confirmed that their pre-season schedule will see them play five friendly matches, with only one taking place at Love Street. There will also be at least one closed door game and a training camp in Austria.

Brady Completes Saints Move

As expected, Dundee's Garry Brady has completed his move to Saints and will join up with the squad when pre-season training begins sometime in the next few weeks. The midfielder spent four years at Dens Park but was available for nothing after being asked to take a pay cut.

Brady Signing To Be Completed Soon

Dundee's Garry Brady will complete his move to Love Street within the next few days. Or, if you read a different paper, it will be a week on Monday. One thing seems certain, however: the midfielder will soon be a Saint.

Gus Wins Award

Saints boss Gus MacPherson has been named as Bell's First Division Manager of the Season. Under MacPherson, Saints picked up both the Bell's Cup and the First Division title, securing their place back in the SPL in the process.

Saints have finally made their first signing of the summer today, however chances are he won't be playing too much next season. Stuart Balmer has been appointed as a coach, and will also be registered as a player.

Saints are reported to be in negotations to sign Dundee player Garry Brady. The midfielder has spent four seasons at Dens Park, and has also had spells with Portsmouth, Newcastle, Norwich and Spurs.

Well, for ten days or so anyway. Due to the fact I have a university exam to prepare for, the exam strangely being scheduled for next Saturday, there will sadly be no more updates on Mirren Mad for a while.

Saints Heading For Europe!

Calm down, we're not going into the UEFA Cup. It's all part of the build up for the new season, as in the second week of July the Saints squad will be going to Austria for a week long training camp.

Saints have announced two more pre-season games to add to the friendly with Partick Thistle and the Renfrewshire Cup Friendly, sorry, Final, against Morton.

Saints have announced this afternoon that David van Zanten has agreed to stay at Love Street. It looked as if the right wing back's future lay elsewhere after his contract expired and there was no sign of him agreeing a new deal.

Kirk Gets Capped

Saints Kirk Broadfoot picked up another cap for the Scotland under 21 side when he played the full ninety minutes against Northern Ireland last night. Former Saint Charlie Adam also played the full game.

Two Sign Up as Vanzy Gets Ready to Leave

There is good news and bad news for Saints fans this afternoon. The good news is that both Simon Lappin and Mark Corcoran have pledged their futures to Saints. The bad news is that David van Zanten has rejected his new deal and looks set to leave.

Saints To Play Thistle

Saints only home friendly of the summer will be played against Partick Thistle on Tuesday 25th July, just a few days before the SPL season kicks off. There will be no other friendlies at Love Street this year due to the installation of undersoil heating.

New Contracts Agreed

Six Saints players have agreed to extend their stay with Saints for another year. Club captain Kevin McGowne and Alan Reid are the biggest of the six names, with the other four being youngsters John Baird, David McKenna, Craig Molloy and Ryan McCay.

Saints Love Affair To Continue?

Saints could be staying at Love Street for a little longer after it was revealed talks to sell the ground are not progressing as quickly as was hoped. Saints are hoping to sell Love Street to a supermarket chain and build a new stadium on Greenhill Road in order to clear the club's debt.

Saints have revealed that they will offer parent and child season tickets for the North Bank after all. When the ticket prices for the SPL campaign were announced on Wednesday, the only place such tickets were available for was the Reid Kerr Stand.

Saints have today released details of the prices of season tickets for next season. Understandably there have been price increases with SPl football to prepare for, but discounts are being offered to people who buy their ticket before 11th June.

Former Saints Clear Out At Brechin

Three former Saints players have been told they are now longer required by new Brechin City manager Michael O'Neill. Alex Burns and Ally Mitchell have been released, whilst Scott Walker has been put on the transfer list.
