Two More Years For Shuggy

Saints midfielder Hugh Murray has become the latest player to sign a new contract with the club. He signed a two year deal yesterday, which will see him at Love Street until the summer of 2007.

Saints are set to make a move for Ayr United striker Stewart Kean after the transfer window opens in January. Saints tried signing the striker back in August but were unable to agree a fee with his current club.

Fans Want Strachan As Boss

Mirren Mad's latest poll has shown that the majority of Saints fans want Gordon Strachan to be made the new Scotland manager. The former Southampton and Coventry boss took exactly half of the votes.

Former Saints player Stephen McPhee has been linked with a shock move to Liverpool. The striker has been doing well for Portuguese side Beira Mar this season, having signed for them in the summer after leaving Port Vale.

Saints player Kirk Broadfoot claimed yesterday that he only lashed out at a 60 year old grandad in self defence. Broadfoot is appearing in court this week, along with a friend, charged with assaulting Joseph Roney.

Saints Lose £170,000

Saints annual accounting report was sent to shareholders yesterday, and they don't make good reading. The losses have more than doubled to £170k, whilst income from football, business and the sports centre were all down.
