Saints will take on Dunfermline Athletic in a few weeks time for a place in the quarter-finals of the Co-operative Insurance League Cup. The tie will be played at East End Park on either September 23 or 24.

On the night Billy Mehmet scored his first career hat-trick, another Saints player managed to go two better for Scotland, with Conor Ramsay scoring all five goals for Scotland under-16s as they beat Jersey under-18s 5-1.

Two Saints players have been called up to the latest Scotland under-21 squad. Scott Cuthbert and Chris Smith have been named in the squad for the upcoming games against Slovenia and Denmark.

There was no repeat of last year's League Cup disaster as Saints destroyed Dumbarton to progress to the next round. Billy Mehmet was the star of the show with a hat-trick but overall it was asuperb team performance.
